En janvier dernier, le GARPAN a lancé le projet d’une Commission d’enquête sur les opérations des ovnis au Québec (1915-2015) qui consistait à « rassembler des collaborateurs en vue de produire la première rétrospective rigoureuse concernant les ovnis au Québec, à remettre officiellement au gouvernement du Québec et aux médias sous forme de rapport public. Cette démarche s’inspire de la seule tentative du genre produite dans la francophonie, en 1999 pour l’État français, le Rapport COMETA ».
Après avoir rallié plusieurs « observateurs internationaux » de France, Belgique, Italie et du Canada, ainsi que quelques artisans de l’ufologie québécoise, nous avons SUSPENDU cet important projet de Commission. La raison est qu’une telle entreprise ne saurait réussir sans la collaboration de la majorité des chercheurs et des investigateurs qui ont marqués l’ufologie québécoise. Or, la plupart de nos confrères ont préféré ne pas appuyer, pour le moment, cette démarche ambitieuse.

La suspension de ce projet a simplement réorienté le cours ultérieur de nos travaux qui seront recyclés sous forme d’études et d’ouvrages publiés aux Éditions GARPAN. Voici deux d’entre eux :

Le projet de Commission d’enquête qui se voulait officielle aura néanmoins servi d’exercice de diplomatie et de méthodologie. Le travail accompli jusqu’à maintenant pour cette Commission, et ce que nous avons appris en cours de route, nous ont quand même mené à une RECOMMANDATION MAJEURE :
- Créer une ASSOCIATION LÉGALE québécoise dont le mandat sera uniquement de préserver les archives ufologiques du Québec et d’offrir un lieu accessible aux membres et au public, à l’image de l’association de Sauvegarde et conservation des études et archives ufologiques (SCEAU) en France.
